A remarkable feat. Amed Sportif, the club of Barea captain Rayan Raveloson, continues to impress during the regular season of the Turkish Super Lig. Following their 2-1 victory against Samsunspor on Saturday at the Canik 19 May Stadium, Rayan’s team has propelled itself into the top position with 20 points.
For the first time in its history, Amed SK has overtaken the country’s biggest club, Galatasaray, which has 19 points after eight matches played. Another major Turkish club, Fenerbahçe, occupies third place with 16 points.
Galatasaray’s trophy cabinet boasts 26 national league titles, 19 national cups, 17 Super Cups, and one title each in the UEFA Europa League and the UEFA Super Cup. In contrast, Amed, which has just achieved this feat, only holds one Division 3 league title and two in Division 4. Amed SK has remained undefeated in its last five matches. Rayan Raveloson’s club had previously achieved another milestone by defeating Trabzonspor, the current club of Egyptian star Mohamed Salah, during the third matchday of the championship.
