FC Rouge has secured its second national title. The Ivandry-based team won the Madagascar Cup on Saturday by defeating AS Sainte Anne 3-2 at the Elgeco Plus stadium. This is a significant achievement for the squad led by Fenosoa Ratolojanahary, a former player for the Madagascar national team and captain of Cnaps Sport.
Despite an excellent run, including a victory against Elgeco Plus in the quarter-finals, AS Sainte Anne was unable to take revenge against the team that denied them the Champions League title a few years ago.
Madagascar’s two representatives for African competitions have now been determined. The Andoharanofotsy Football Training Center (CFFA) will represent the Great Island in the CAF Champions League, while FC Rouge will compete in the CAF Confederation Cup.
