The cultural diversity and cooperative ties between Madagascar and Russia were the focus of the latest episode of Russamada TV. As a guest on the show, the Chargé d’Affaires of the Russian Federation in Madagascar, Alexey Sergeyevich, presented the similarities between the two nations and the prospects for collaboration. Broadcast on a Russian television channel and produced with the support of the African Initiative agency, the program also allowed the Malagasy public to discover Moscow’s Red Square, a historical symbol of the Russian capital. Viewers were also able to follow an introduction to the Russian language.
During the interview, the diplomat emphasized the cultural richness that characterizes both countries. He recalled that Madagascar, like Russia, brings together different communities living in a spirit of respect and dialogue. Russia notably includes nearly 190 ethnic groups and more than 150 languages. According to Alexey Sergeyevich, this diversity constitutes a point of convergence between the two peoples, who also share values such as hospitality, attachment to traditions, solidarity, and mutual aid.
The representative of African Initiative, for his part, praised the support of the Russian Embassy in Madagascar in carrying out the agency’s projects, as well as the participation of the TVM team in the development of the show. Through Russamada TV, the organizers hope to strengthen cultural exchanges and contribute to a better mutual understanding between the Russian and Malagasy peoples.
