SEMI-FINALS – Uscar in pole position

The Makis Stadium in Andohatapenaka is set to host a highly anticipated semi-final clash between two top teams. The Club Étoile d’Andranomanalina (CEA), having had a remarkable run in their debut season in the elite league, will challenge Uscar this Sunday at 3:00 PM.

Uscar approaches this match with a spirit of revenge. During a press conference held at Alarobia Stadium on Thursday, coach Jacquot Harinirina expressed his confidence: “We have learned from our 14-27 defeat in December 2025. We want to write a new chapter in the club’s history, as in recent years, Uscar has always finished on the third step of the podium. Our goal is clear: reach the final and aim for the national title.”

With seven wins and three losses in the group stage, Uscar has demonstrated consistency. However, to overcome the CEA hurdle, the Urban Commune players must remain focused and avoid errors. Captain Anthony Razafindratsimba noted, “To reach this goal, we must ensure ball possession, avoid unnecessary fouls, and stay focused until the final whistle. We cannot leave space for the very fast CEA players.”

For CEA, this match is a historic milestone. As a newly promoted team in Federal Elite 1, the Andranomanalina club quickly found its footing thanks to targeted recruitment. Their second-place finish in the group stage confirms their quality. A victory on Sunday would grant the club its first national final appearance just months after joining the elite ranks.

CEA coach Falisoa Narindra Rakotondrainibe acknowledges the challenge: “Sunday’s match will not be easy against the Urban Commune players, who are very disciplined and strong in the scrum.”
