FOOTBALL – TURKEY – Rayan Raveloson outshines Mohamed Salah

A new adventure. Barea captain Rayan Raveloson continues his career with his new Turkish club, Amed SK. The third round of the Turkish Super League, played this weekend, was highlighted by Amed SK’s 2-1 victory over Trabzonspor, the club of Egyptian star Mohamed Salah.

The 34-year-old former Liverpool right-winger scored his team’s only goal in the 11th minute. Amed SK equalized before halftime and snatched the victory in the final minutes of the match.

With six points after three rounds, Amed SK occupies fifth place in the standings, with two wins—secured in the first and third rounds—and one loss in the second. Trabzonspor currently sits in 11th place with four points, suffering their first defeat of the season.

Galatasaray currently leads the table with seven points, followed by Genclerbirligi with seven points, and Besiktas and Fenerbahçe with six points each. In the fourth round, Amed SK will travel to face Kasimpasa, who are currently eighth with five points.

A former AJ Auxerre player, Rayan Raveloson is a key pillar of the Madagascar national team. Often serving as captain, he has been one of the most consistently called-up players for the Barea since joining the squad in 2019, the year Madagascar made its first appearance in the Africa Cup of Nations finals in Egypt. The current Amed SK defensive midfielder has earned 50 caps and scored nine goals for Madagascar. For the Antsiranana native, the journey now continues in Turkey.
