Two young Malagasy women have been selected from nearly 1,200 international candidates to participate in the International Advocacy Cod’Action (CAPI) in Geneva.
Following a rigorous selection process, Aryella Andrianatsitoherinteny, representing the National Human Rights Observatory (ONDH), and Rindramalala Andoniaina, founder of the NGO Kariera, were chosen among twenty youths from eighteen countries. Their advocacy focuses on two critical issues for Malagasy youth: access to justice and professional integration.
Organized by the Center for Advice and Support for Youth in Human Rights (CODAP), the CAPI program provides ten days of intensive training in human rights, project management, and international advocacy. Participants from Africa, Europe, Latin America, and the Indian Ocean region exchange experiences to better structure their initiatives.
Aryella Andrianatsitoherinteny focuses her advocacy on access to justice and the regulation of the ‘Dina’ (traditional social contracts) in Madagascar, ensuring fundamental rights are respected in community practices. Meanwhile, Rindramalala Andoniaina, through her NGO Kariera, champions the right to dignified professional integration, aiming to provide young people with stable employment opportunities that foster economic independence.
Upon their return to Madagascar, both participants intend to apply the skills, tools, and international network acquired in Geneva to strengthen their respective causes and amplify the voices of Malagasy youth.
