A potential partner. The Indian company Megha Engineering and Infrastructures Ltd (MEIL) has expressed its interest in strengthening its contribution to road infrastructure in Madagascar, particularly on the RN1 Bis and RN13, according to the Ministry of Public Works. The company’s delegation was received by the Minister of Public Works, Dr. Sambilason Richard Rafefimanana, on Wednesday.
According to the ministry, the company’s interest was expressed following several field visits conducted by the Indian delegation. The RN1 Bis, the Bemolanga site, and the entire route of the RN13 were visited to assess the realities and infrastructure needs. Following these visits, the company indicated its willingness to increase its contribution to infrastructure development in Madagascar, with a particular focus on the RN1 Bis and RN13.
The meeting between the MEIL delegation and the Minister of Public Works also focused on strengthening cooperation between Madagascar and India in the field of infrastructure and road networks. The ministry describes MEIL as one of the Indian companies active in investing in and executing large-scale infrastructure projects.
The Minister of Public Works welcomed this initiative and reaffirmed, according to the statement, the government’s commitment to supporting and facilitating the arrival of investors in the infrastructure sector. The stated goal is to accelerate the implementation of priority projects and improve the national road network.
