ANOSIZATO – Municipality clears the site for the future flyover

Construction of the Anosizato flyover is set to begin on July 31, according to the Ministry of Public Works. The project is expected to proceed without disrupting traffic.

Preparations for the flyover construction are underway in Anosizato. Agents from the Urban Commune of Antananarivo (CUA) have cleared the construction zone. “The CUA is removing advertising billboards, while Jirama is relocating utility poles that could hinder the progress of the work,” stated the Minister of Public Works, Dr. Sambilason Richard Rafefimanana, during a press conference on Thursday regarding the launch of the project.

The construction will last 24 months. To maintain traffic flow, a temporary metal bridge is being installed, and a new main bridge will be built adjacent to the existing one. Once the new bridge is operational, traffic will be diverted, the old bridge will be demolished, and a replacement will be constructed.

The interchange will connect the RN1 and RN58 via four access ramps and four additional slip roads. Upon completion, the crossing will feature four traffic lanes, and both the RN1 and RN58 will be widened to four lanes up to Ankadimbahoaka.

The project is funded by the Arab Bank for Economic Development in Africa (Badea) with an investment of 128 billion ariary. Regarding the 215 families subject to expropriation, the Ministry assured that no evictions will occur until compensation is fully paid, with 85% of the compensation files already signed.
