Another pathway for professional integration for young people. Approximately 3,500 vulnerable youths from 46 fokontany in the Analamanga and Vakinankaratra regions will benefit from employment support as part of the ‘Anjara – Innovative Actions’ project. The program is based on a participatory approach aimed at adapting training to market needs and the aspirations of the young beneficiaries.
Implemented since September 2024 by SOS Children’s Villages Madagascar, with financial support from the European Union and SOS Children’s Villages Denmark, the project is conducted in partnership with Aide et Action and the Civil Society Platform for Childhood (PFSCE). Its objective is to strengthen the protection of children’s rights and promote the professional integration of vulnerable youth.
According to the National Director of SOS Children’s Villages Madagascar, Felamboahangy Ratsimisetra, the partners involved parents, young people, and fokontany leaders in identifying needs. Beneficiaries were specifically consulted to determine promising sectors that match their expectations. Livestock farming is among the most requested sectors.
As part of this project, a partnership agreement was signed on July 27, 2026, between the Ministry of Technical Education and Vocational Training and SOS Children’s Villages Madagascar. The agreement provides for vocational training, career guidance, internships, and support for entrepreneurship.
The partnership also includes the organization of a career forum, named ‘Ny Anjara Asako’, designed to bring young people closer to the professional world and help them discover the opportunities offered by technical education and vocational training.
