CONCERT – Tanora Masina Itaosy celebrates 35 years through song

The evangelical group Tanora Masina Itaosy will bring together its members, audience, and several artists on October 25 at the Barea Mahamasina Stadium to celebrate 35 years of preaching through music.

Under the theme “Izy no torinay” (He is the one we preach), taken from Colossians 1:28, the concert will begin at 11:30 a.m. and feature various evangelical artists. “We wish to celebrate our 35 years of existence and remind everyone that preaching the Gospel has always been at the heart of our activities,” explains Lovaniaina Rakotondranaivo, the group’s choir director and composer.

Artists such as Mialy Rakotomamonjy, Antsa an’i Kristy, Ny Mpitory, Ny Hasim-piderana, Rojo Ny Avo, Ventsonkira, and Jàjà are scheduled to perform, alongside surprise guests. Doors will open at 9:30 a.m., and organizers expect around 21,000 spectators.

Founded in 1991 within the Malagasy Lutheran Church (FLM) of Ambohimasina Itaosy, the group was officially inaugurated on December 8 of that same year. Its name was bestowed by Mama Volahavana Germaine, known as Nenilava, a prominent figure of the Fifohazana movement in Madagascar. Today, the group has 140 members, has composed over 120 songs, and produced ten albums, with an eleventh currently in preparation.
