ANTSOHIHY – A marathon day for the President of the Refoundation

The President of the Refoundation of the Republic, Colonel Michaël Randrianirina, engaged in a series of activities in Antsohihy during a particularly busy day. The visit focused on local development, national memory, and solidarity.

The President arrived at Antsohihy airport in the Sofia region to participate in the 68th anniversary of the proclamation of the First Republic of Madagascar. The festivities began with a mass at the Ambalabe Catholic Church, followed by the inauguration of a renovated primary school and a museum dedicated to Philibert Tsiranana in Anjiamangirana.

In the afternoon, the President visited Antsohihy to distribute donations to farmers’ organizations and inaugurate a renovated stele and the Sofia region museum. In the evening, he met with the local population at the municipal stadium, following the official installation of Iréné Jaosera as the head of the Sofia region.

During his speech, Colonel Michaël Randrianirina emphasized patriotism and national values, strongly denouncing corruption as a major scourge impoverishing the country. He called for a collective awakening regarding social inequalities and urged the nation to undergo a profound renewal in both mindset and behavior.

Finally, the President reaffirmed that the process leading to national consultation is continuing despite attempts at disruption. He rejected calls for a political dialogue that he believes masks a desire for power-sharing, or “fiaraha-mitantana,” stating firmly that his administration would not accept such arrangements.
