The Urban Commune of Antananarivo (CUA) and Yas Madagascar will set up a fan zone with a giant screen on the square of the City Hall in Analakely starting tomorrow, on the occasion of the World Cup quarter-finals, running through the grand final scheduled for July 19. Entertainment activities will also be provided to the public throughout the period.
“The Urban Commune will ensure security in the surrounding areas. About fifty municipal police officers will be deployed and surveillance cameras will be installed. Mobile toilets will also be set up. Thirty agents will carry out cleaning every morning,” assured Toommy Rakotomampiandra, head of communications at the CUA. The number of security and cleaning agents will be increased if necessary as the event progresses.
“To delight football fans in the capital and its surroundings, we decided to set up this fan zone, in addition to other locations, including Tana Water Front in Ambodivona and in the regions,” mentioned Manitra Rakotoarimanana, a manager at Yas Madagascar. Football enthusiasts can therefore gather at the Analakely square to experience the excitement of the matches from the quarter-finals to the World Cup final.
