The Femmes Entrepreneures d’Analamanga (FEA), the regional branch of the Groupement des Femmes Entrepreneures de Madagascar (GFEM), is celebrating its 10th anniversary on November 25 and 26 with the Women in Business Forum 2026. Under the theme ‘Upgrade Together,’ the event expects over 200 participants, including bankers, buyers, and experts, to focus on scaling up women-led businesses.
Tantely Rakotomalala, regional president of FEA, noted the shift in motivation among Malagasy women, moving from necessity-driven entrepreneurship to ambition-driven ventures. Despite their presence across all sectors—from agribusiness to digital services—many still face hurdles in accessing finance, markets, and strategic partnerships.
Fanja Razakaboana, national president of GFEM, emphasized that supporting women-led businesses is vital for the entire economy. Since its inception in 2016, the FEA has become a key player in fostering leadership, having organized several successful forums and hosted international events like the COMFWB Trade Fair and the FCEM committee.
The 2026 forum aims for concrete outcomes. It includes a pre-event at Ankatso University for students, followed by strategic sessions at the Novotel Convention Alarobia, featuring a ‘Finance Lab’ where high-potential businesses can pitch to investors. With 80 active members and a national network of over 250 entrepreneurs, the FEA looks toward 2027 with 42 planned actions to continue driving growth.
