18-year-old Nekena Liantsoa Andriamisaina Rasolonjatovo has emerged as the top Baccalaureate student in Antananarivo for the 2026 session. Specializing in Accounting and Management, she achieved an average score of 18/20, according to an announcement by the University of Antananarivo this week.
Reflecting on her journey, Nekena shared that she attended Catholic schools throughout her education, including Lycée Saint-Antoine de Padoue and Lycée Ny Sekolintsika Analamahitsy, before graduating from the private Catholic high school (LPC) Masindahy Filipo sy Zaka Tanjombato. She consistently ranked first in her class throughout high school.
When asked about her success, she admitted that while she aimed to be a top student in her specific stream, achieving the highest score in the entire capital was unexpected. She attributed her success to hard work, prayer, self-discipline, and setting aside personal hobbies like crochet to focus entirely on her studies. Her future ambition is to pursue higher education at a prestigious university, ideally abroad, with the ultimate goal of becoming a chartered accountant.
Her parents, Rivosoa Lalaina Rasolonjatovo and Annie Albertine Randriamisaina, described her as an organized, determined, and rigorous student who possesses great autonomy in her learning. They noted that she is currently preparing for entrance exams at institutions such as INSCAE, UCM, and IST.
