The duo composed of Malagasy driver Iaro Razanakoto and Thai-Norwegian driver Sandy Kraokew Stuvik once again finished on the podium this Sunday, following the third round of the Thailand Super Series (TSS) held at the Sepang International Circuit in Malaysia. Driving their Audi R8 Evo II GT3, the two pilots secured third place in the overall GT3 category standings after a highly competitive race.
Starting from the last position following a collision during Saturday’s night race, the tandem staged an impressive comeback on Sunday. Iaro Razanakoto notably took the lead of the race and defended his first position for a long time before finally yielding to the pressure from Team Singha and the duo of Kantasak-Piti.
The Malagasy driver had to contend with worn tires kept from the qualifying sessions, while his main rivals benefited from new tires. Despite this handicap, he held on until the final lap to eventually step onto the third step of the podium.
This new performance confirms Iaro Razanakoto’s consistency on the international stage. Having already finished third in the inaugural round in May and at the Bangsaen Grand Prix in early July, the Malagasy driver continues his progression at the highest level of motorsport.
