Colonel Randrianirina has placed the Armed Forces at the heart of the Republic’s Refoundation challenges. During a ceremony at the Military Academy (Acmil) in Antsirabe yesterday, he called on them to contribute to the smooth conduct and reliability of the electoral process.
The Head of State, who defines his mandate through the dual objectives of leading the Refoundation of the Republic and ensuring a return to constitutional order, emphasized the need for military support to achieve transparent and impeccable elections by 2027. Addressing the new officers, he urged them to demonstrate patriotism and integrity, specifically by rejecting corruption, which remains a major threat to electoral credibility.
While the call has a clear security dimension—ensuring the protection of voting operations and logistics—it also reflects a desire for institutional stability in a volatile political landscape. Minister of the Armed Forces, General Ely Razafitombo, pledged the military’s full support for the President’s mission to secure the territory and achieve the goals of the Refoundation.
