CONCERT – Njakatiana returns to conquer Antsonjombe

After several years of absence from this stage, Njakatiana is answering his fans’ call with “Antsika Mianakavy Jiaby,” a concert promising several surprises this Sunday, October 4, at the Antsonjombe Coliseum.

Njakatiana’s return to the Antsonjombe Coliseum is marked by nostalgia and anticipation. Scheduled from 2:30 PM to 6:30 PM, “Antsika Mianakavy Jiaby” will bring together multiple generations to enjoy a repertoire spanning his entire career.

“The repertoire will be very diverse: it will include old songs, mid-career hits, and current tracks,” the artist announced. Several costume changes are planned, and guest artists may perform before the main show. Collaborations are expected, with other performers potentially covering his songs, while Njakatiana may also revisit their hits.

The choice of an outdoor venue directly responds to long-standing requests from his audience. “Many people have been asking me when I would perform an outdoor show during the day again,” Njakatiana explained.

Among his long-time admirers, Matilde is delighted by this return. “I am very happy that Njakatiana has answered his fans’ call for an outdoor show. Nostalgia will definitely be in the air,” she said.

On stage, the singer will be accompanied by musicians, a choir, two dance groups, and his regular dancers. The public is welcome from 10:00 AM, with special attention paid to security, particularly for families and spectators traveling from afar.

A career marked by major milestones. This concert is part of a career that began in 1992, with his professional debut at the Roxy stage. May 2, 1993, remains a significant moment in his early days. Over the years, Njakatiana has performed on several major stages, notably at the Palais des Sports and Antsonjombe.

One of the most memorable episodes of his career was when he organized two major concerts almost simultaneously at the Ivato Nautical Club and Antsonjombe. To reach both venues on the same day, the artist used a helicopter, which also allowed for a spectacular entrance. The two events gathered a total of over 50,000 spectators.

The Coliseum holds a special place in his history. After several performances there since the 1990s, Njakatiana celebrated his 25th career anniversary there in 2017. In 2022, his 30th-anniversary show at the Palais des Sports was sold out, as was his February 14 concert in the same venue.

With “Antsika Mianakavy Jiaby,” Njakatiana is returning to a stage that has accompanied many moments of his journey. Between old songs, collaborations, and surprises, the event is set to allow the artist to reconnect with his audience in an atmosphere filled with memories.
