Transporters are planning to leave the Fasan’ny Karàna bus station before the deadline set by the Ministry of Transport and Meteorology. “Starting Thursday, I will move my vehicles to the Amoron’Akona bus station. I made this decision because I am eager to leave a station where I make very little profit due to the massive presence of thieves and scammers of all kinds,” a cooperative president confided yesterday.
According to him, vehicle owners are no longer finding it profitable. “Imagine a new vehicle that, after only six months, deteriorates due to the overloading of goods on the roof, while the daily earnings are insignificant,” he continued.
Other cooperative leaders are also expressing their intention to leave. “We will leave when the time comes,” another source indicated. Cooperative agents have already undergone training on the operation and management of the Amoron’Akona bus station.
The Ministry of Transport and Meteorology has granted transporters operating at Fasan’ny Karàna a fifteen-day period, starting from August 31, to vacate the site. They now have only one week left. While some operators still wish to stay, others are calling on the State to show firmness so that all operators join the new bus station.
