POLITICS – Colonel Michaël Randrianirina hosted former Presidents Hery Rajaonarimampianina and Marc Ravalomanana at the Iavoloha Presidential Palace on Monday. The meeting was described by the presidency as an opportunity for discussion and exchange regarding national affairs.
The presidency stated that the audience was granted to the “two elected former Presidents of the Republic” to deliberate on various topics and issues. “They compared their viewpoints and reflections on matters related to the subjects discussed, in the interest of the Malagasy population,” the statement noted.
According to the presidency, such exchanges would ideally take place within a formal structure; however, as the Great Island currently lacks one, the incumbent Head of State received his predecessors at the Presidential Palace. “The discussions were held in a spirit of fraternity and focused on the supreme interest of the Nation.”
