Airtel Madagascar is launching a new prefix this June, as its active subscriber base continues to grow, surpassing the 5 million mark.
“The introduction of the 035 prefix marks a structural milestone in our development. It reflects the sustained growth of Airtel Madagascar and our commitment to supporting the connectivity and financial inclusion needs of the Malagasy people. We are opening a new chapter today with a network that is more accessible to everyone,” stated Anne Catherine Tchokonté, Managing Director of Airtel Madagascar.
The first mobile numbers starting with 035 have been available across the entire Airtel Madagascar distribution network since June 22, 2026.
With numbers starting with 035, subscribers gain access to all Airtel services, including voice calls, internet, digital services, and Airtel Money. Financial operations such as transfers, payments, deposits, and withdrawals, as well as interconnections with banks, digital platforms, and authentication systems, remain fully operational.
The operator reassures its existing customers that the introduction of the 035 prefix will have no impact on those who already possess a 033 number. Existing numbers remain fully valid, and no action is required from users. “Everyone continues to benefit from the same services with a smooth and continuous experience,” the operator clarified.
