Pétanque – Mondial de Bron: Lova, Baloty, and Bondy Dominate Madagascar 2

A 100% Malagasy final. The boulistes from the Great Island put on a demonstration at the Mondial de Bron, which counts towards the National Top 1000 outside the Passion Pétanque Française circuit. Two teams from the Malagasy Boules Sports Federation (FSBM) faced each other in the final on Sunday evening.

The triplet composed of Lova Rakotoarisoa, Faralahy Urbain Joseph Ramanantiaray (known as “Baloty”), and Steph James Rakotonirina defeated Tiana Laurens Razanadrakoto (known as “Tonnerre”), Tafita Angelo Andriamahandry, and Jean Mickaël Ratolojanahary with a score of 13-4.

Baloty and his teammates eliminated the Décines team, formed by Franck Picq and Malagasy stars Yves Sedrick Rakotoarisoa and Jean François Daniel Rakotondrainibe, in the semi-finals. Meanwhile, Tonnerre’s squad knocked out Michel Reigaza, Enzo Risati, and Gregory Guille. Lahatra Randriamanantany’s team was also eliminated in the round of 16.
