The second round of the Madagascar Run Championship took place on Sunday in Arivonimamo. The victory went to Nouroudine Mamodaly.
The second round, dubbed “The King of Mada Fosa Energy,” featured intense competition and an unprecedented incident. RunMada club pilot Nouroudine Mamodaly, driving an Audi TT, bounced back to win the overall category at the 213 base in Arivonimamo. He defeated the first-round winner, Tahiana Rasolojaina (known as Jay Taxx), who drove a BMW E30 Fosa Energy, in the Super Final.
The reigning Madagascar champion set a new national record with a time of 9.030 seconds on his first run. Nouroudine had previously held the record of 9.19 and 9.14 seconds. “We had a misfire issue, but we managed to fix it in time,” said the champion, who had retired in the first round due to gearbox problems.
The event was marred by a serious accident involving Ricardo Randriananja, who lost control of his Smart Drag car. The vehicle zigzagged after 200 meters, hit a truck, and crashed into a light pole and the technical tent. Ricardo and two technicians were hospitalized. The race was briefly interrupted, and the second-run results were canceled. The third round is scheduled for September 13 at the same track.
