It has begun. The rehabilitation work on the RN1 bis, connecting Maintirano to Tsiroanomandidy, has officially started. This announcement was made by Michaël Randrianirina, President of the Refondation.
For this major project, the State has entrusted the mission to the military. The first equipment has already arrived on site, and work has commenced immediately. Long neglected, this road is nonetheless vital. It serves as a strategic section for commercial trade between the Melaky region and the center of the country.
During the rainy season, it becomes almost impassable, blocking the transport of agricultural and fishery products to major markets. With this project supported by the government, the goal is to improve key infrastructure to open up the West, develop the region, and facilitate the movement of goods and people. The rehabilitation of the RN1 bis is expected to reduce transport costs and ensure the secure delivery of products throughout the year.
