The death of 6-year-old Finaritrasoa Valimbavaka has caused shock in Ambohijafy, in the commune of Fenoarivo. According to local sources, the child frequently showed signs of injury. When questioned about this, he reportedly stated that he had been beaten at home.
Last Monday, residents learned that the boy had died and had allegedly been buried without the local fokontany officials being informed. They alerted the authorities. Law enforcement and doctors arrived at the scene, and the body was subsequently exhumed for examination as part of the investigation into this suspicious death.
Three people, including the child’s parents, have been implicated and remain at the disposal of investigators. Following the examination, the body was returned to the family for burial. The investigation is ongoing, and the public prosecutor’s office has been seized of the case.
