The national ranking has been updated following the Madagascar 25m pool championships held in Mahajanga. Jonathan Raharvel and Holy Antsa Rabejaona logically occupy the top spots.
The hierarchy remains intact. The Madagascar Swimming Federation released the new national rankings after the 25m pool championships held in Mahajanga a little over a week ago. The two Paris 2024 Olympians, Harivony Jonathan Raharvel and Holy Antsa Rabejaona, who both train in Budapest, Hungary, confirmed their status by leading the rankings in their respective categories.
In the men’s category, 24-year-old Cosfa swimmer and recent African champion Jonathan Raharvel dominates the ranking with 1,923 points. He achieved the best times in the 50m breaststroke (28.51), 100m breaststroke (1:03.24), and 200m breaststroke (2:23.56).
Trailing the leader by 95 points, 19-year-old Baritiana Mathieu Andriampenomanana from the Managing club holds second place with 1,828 points. Having set five new national records, he notably achieved the best times in the 200m freestyle (1:55.27), 400m freestyle (4:10.77), and 100m freestyle (53.27).
Tendry Tiavina Rakotobe, 17, from the Sainte Jeanne d’Arc de Boeny club, completes the podium with 1,826 points, distinguishing himself in the 50m butterfly (25.17) and 100m butterfly (56.68).
In the women’s category, Holy Antsa Rabejaona from the Managing club, who set two new national records at the recent championships in Mahajanga, retains the top spot with 1,870 points. She holds the best performances in the 100m freestyle (58.94), 50m freestyle (26.81), and 50m backstroke (29.36).
She is followed by two Saint-Michel swimmers: 15-year-old Stephy Neyah Rambinintsoa in second place (1,568 points) and 17-year-old Harena Soa Razanatefy in third (1,538 points).
The two leaders, Jonathan Raharvel and Holy Antsa Rabejaona, both World Aquatics scholarship holders, will represent Madagascar at the upcoming 25m pool World Championships scheduled in Beijing, China, from December 1st to 6th.
