ASA Tana Rally: A Night Special Stage on Independence Avenue

A spectacle in the heart of the city. Following the success of the asphalt special stage in front of City Hall during the 19th Boeny Rally, organized by Go Janga in mid-August, the Asa Tana club will also host one of the special stages of the 23rd Tour de Tana on Independence Avenue during the second day of the event.

The 2026 edition of the Tour de Tana Sodirex-Orange, which counts as the fourth round of the Madagascar Rally Championship, will take place from October 2 to 4. The stage on Independence Avenue will be a night special, covering a distance of 0.98 km in a figure-eight shape, scheduled for the end of the second day on October 3. The first car is set to depart at 7:35 PM.

“Competitors will be allowed to change their tires because there will be a regrouping before the night stage, and they will be entitled to repairs before SS7,” emphasized Fanoa Rakotoson, president of the organizing club, ASA Tana. A total of ten long special stages covering 126 km will be on the menu for competitors over the three days of this coefficient-1 rally, including two on the first day, five on the second, and three on the third and final day.

The title race remains wide open after the three national rounds held so far. Victory was claimed by Mathieu Andrianjafy in a Subaru during the first two rounds in the capital, while the third round in Mahajanga was won by Fred Rabekoto in a Mitsubishi Yas. Olivier Ramiandrisoa is closely trailing them, having reached the podium in every round.
