The school year has begun, but anxiety persists among some parents. Beyond school supplies and tuition fees, the safety of children on their way between home and school is a major concern.
To limit risks, some parents prefer to accompany their children themselves both to and from school. Others, held back by professional activities, entrust this responsibility to a domestic helper. Precise instructions are then established: remain vigilant, prevent the child from lingering, and above all, forbid them from playing on the way. “If possible, it would be better for parents to pick up their children themselves. It is really difficult to entrust this responsibility to another person,” a parent testified.
The situation is particularly worrying for the youngest, who remain dependent on adults for their travel. For parents, vigilance must therefore be constant, both on the journey and in the vicinity of the school. As students gradually return to school, the issue of their safety remains at the heart of family concerns.
