A successful debut. Invited by FA Group, the event organizer, Germany-based expatriate Claudia Toly Henri has secured her first professional victory in Thailand. “This is a dream come true for me. I have dreamed of going to Thailand, the birthplace of this discipline, for a long time,” rejoiced the Malagasy fighter, who has been training and competing in Germany for several years.
On Tuesday night, at the Ao Nang Landmark Boxing Stadium in Bangkok, Claudia defeated Thai fighter Thonpanchang from the Nayokgoypanang club by knockout in the second round. The bout was scheduled for five two-minute rounds and was the only female professional fight among the seven matches on the evening’s program. “Weight categories are not strictly enforced here. Sometimes, there can be a gap of up to 5 kg between two fighters,” she noted.
Wearing shorts in the colors of red, white, and green, the taller Claudia dominated from the first round with precise counter-attacks and combinations of low kicks and punches. More aggressive and faster, she continued her relentless offensive in the second round. The Thai fighter struggled to defend before collapsing after absorbing a low kick followed by two direct punches to the face. This marks her second victory in as many fights this season. In the -54 kg category, Claudia won her first belt of the year in early May at the Storm Fighting Championship pro event in Germany. Since the beginning of her professional career abroad, Claudia has recorded eight victories, including two this year, and five defeats in thirteen fights.
