The DEGS (Law, Economics, Management, and Sociology) faculty of the University of Toliara launched the celebration of its 25th anniversary on October 21st at the Cedratom center in Toliara, featuring a grand ceremony and an inaugural conference. Held under the theme “DEGS of Yesterday and Today: Meeting Its Builders,” the event was marked by a moment of sharing and reflection on the faculty’s history, led by renowned professors Dina Alphonse and Simon Seta Rasolofomasy.
“25 years of knowledge, encounters, commitments, and memories, and the support of generations who, each in their own way, write the history of the faculty,” emphasized Dina Alphonse. The conference also served to recall the educational journey that led today’s jurists, economists, managers, and sociologists to their current positions. “25 years ago, I walked through the doors of the DEGS faculty at the University of Toliara as a student, with dreams, ambitions, and a desire to learn. Today, it is with immense emotion that I receive an award from this same institution, but this time as a teacher,” testified Raissa Andrianivoniaina, a teacher and head of the Management department at the DEGS faculty of the University of Toliara. Honorary distinctions were awarded to teachers and department heads. Nearly six thousand students have attended the faculty over the past 25 years.
