Sport, art, and urban culture took center stage in the capital. Analamanga traceurs swept the titles at the national parkour ‘speed run’ championships, with a trio from the capital claiming the podium. Rianala Ranaivomanana secured the men’s title with a best time of 18.72 seconds, followed by Myo Johnson (19.71s) and Dinah Rakotoarijaona (20.94s). In the women’s category, Fitsikina Ravoavonjiarisoa took the title (24.49s), ahead of Fortuna Rakoto (31.14s) and Sonya Mamianja (35.07s). In the freestyle event, Abdel Sahidah from Antsirabe topped the podium with 24.9 points, ahead of Manjaka Rahovalahy from Fianarantsoa (23.7 points) and Émilie Ramanitranja (22.7 points).
The top performers will join the pre-selection squad for the 2027 World Championships in Montpellier. This year’s national summit gathered about forty traceurs from Antananarivo, Mahajanga, Antsirabe, Fianarantsoa, Atsiranana, and Morondava.
The championship has been held annually for five editions alongside the Urban Flow Festival, created by the Alefa Parkour festival and initiated by the Traceur Gasy association. The 5th edition took place from September 4 to 6 on the forecourt of the City Hall in Analakely. The 2026 edition brought together over a hundred athletes across ten disciplines, including parkour, breakdance, graffiti, contemporary circus, women’s 3×3 basketball, skateboarding, rollerblading, BMX, football freestyle, street workout, music, and rap.
