Seventeen new executives in Olympic sports organization management, from the “Rohi” class, received their diplomas on Friday at Sky Blue in Ambohimanambola. Their training must now translate into concrete actions for the benefit of Malagasy sport.
“They completed a defense at the end of seven months of training, which included six modules dedicated specifically to governance, organization, leadership, and partnership,” explained Ratoavina Ramaroson, director of the program and courses.
The valedictorian, Tiana Jaoferason, a table tennis executive, stated during her speech: “We must be the architects of change and concrete actions, committed as builders and pillars of a more united Malagasy sport, based on collective intelligence and team spirit.” She added: “Like athletes, sports leaders must also make unavoidable sacrifices. Our ‘Rohi’ class, which means ‘link’, will also serve as a bridge and a showcase internationally.”
Several disciplines are represented within this class. “We can hope for rapid and sustainable development of sport with the management of sports organizations in transparency and far from corruption,” emphasized Olympic swimmer Bako Ratsifandrihamanana.
“Technicians could also apply the knowledge acquired within a structure,” mentioned the former national technical director of volleyball, Serge Saramba.
Since 2012, one hundred and forty Malagasy sports executives have graduated under the International Olympic Committee’s “Advanced Sports Management Course” program.
