The educational offerings at Inside University are expanding. According to the correspondent for “African Initiative,” a cooperation agreement signed between the institution and the Russian House in Madagascar now allows for the introduction of the Russian language into the curriculum. Students will benefit from four hours of Russian classes per week, with the program scheduled to launch on September 16. A teacher seconded by the Russian House will provide pedagogical and organizational support for the program.
“Learning Russian contributes to strengthening educational and humanitarian ties between Madagascar and Russia. It offers the possibility of organizing cultural and academic exchanges, while broadening the horizons of students wishing to pursue their studies or develop their professional careers,” emphasized Mioranavalona Ratobihasina, Vice-Rector of the university.
This initiative is part of a long-term approach. “It is particularly encouraging to see the keen interest of young Malagasy people in Russian language and culture. Our partnership will not be limited to an isolated project: a long and fruitful collaboration awaits us,” rejoiced Ilia Kontanistov, Director of the Russian House.
This partnership comes in the context of strengthening cultural relations. An agreement on the creation of a partner Russian House in Madagascar was signed on September 8 by Igor Chaika, Director of Rossotrudnichestvo, and Artyom Kureyev, Editor-in-Chief of “African Initiative.” On September 10, a library dedicated to Russian authors officially opened its doors within the institution.
