A twist in the race. International Malagasy GT racing driver Iaro Razanakoto, alongside Thai-Norwegian driver Sandy Kraokew Stuvik, driving an Audi R8 Evo II GT3, finished third overall this weekend during the third round of the Thailand Super Series at the Sepang F1 International Circuit in Malaysia.
The duo Iaro and Sandy made an impressive comeback during Sunday’s second race. Following a collision during Saturday’s first night race, Iaro started the second race on Sunday from the last position. The Malagasy-Thai-Norwegian team was overtaken on the final lap by the pair Carlo Van Dam-Bhirombhakdi Voravud and the pair Kantasak-Piti. “We could have won, but we were blocked by a GT4 competitor, which allowed Team Ferrari and NSK to get ahead of us,” explained Iaro Razanakoto.
In early July, during the second round of the TSS, Iaro and Sandy finished third at the Bangsaen Grand Prix. And during the season’s inaugural race in late May, Iaro was ranked third after the qualifying sessions.
