A clear improvement. All candidates for the 2026 Brevet d’études du premier cycle (BEPC) official exam now know their fate following the publication of the results. This year, 61.85% of candidates obtained their diploma, according to data released by the ministry. The results show a national increase compared to the 2025 session, where the pass rate was 58.95%.
However, significant regional disparities remain, as shown by the results. According to the Ministry of National Education, the Ampanihy school district stands out this year with the best performance in the country. 95.27% of candidates there successfully passed the official BEPC exam, a score that places this district well above the national average. At the other end of the spectrum, the Miandrivazo school district shows a much bleaker outcome. Only 22.30% of candidates were declared admitted to the 2026 BEPC, a very worrying figure.
The Antananarivo City school district recorded a decline in its BEPC pass rate this year. The reported pass rate is 54.85%, compared to 57.35% in 2025. This performance continues to decline, especially when considering the 2024 results, which stood at a 64.39% pass rate.
