After two days of searching, a father was finally found, but unfortunately, he had already passed away. His body was discovered at the foot of a cliff, west of Mandrosoa, in the Andramasina district, yesterday morning. According to reports, his body was found on his birthday.
Initial hypotheses suggest that the man may have fallen from the cliff, which could be the cause of his death. However, an investigation has been opened to shed light on the circumstances of his passing.
The family last saw the man on Wednesday morning when he left on his motorcycle with several bags of goods. Since then, he had not been heard from. Worried, his family began searching for him and issued missing person notices. Information gathered indicated he was last spotted in Ambatofotsy on Wednesday at noon.
“He had left home to go to the countryside for a ‘famadihana’ (exhumation ceremony). The villagers were surprised not to see him arrive in the evening. We called each other, both here and in the countryside. The search was intensified on Thursday. He was supposed to turn 40 today, but it was his lifeless body that was found,” his son stated yesterday.
The famadihana was scheduled to take place in Ambohimamory, in the commune of Ambohimiadana, Andramasina district. As he did not arrive, searches were conducted in all surrounding areas, with local residents joining the family. Yesterday, around 7:30 a.m., they informed the relatives that the man had been found at the foot of a cliff, slightly off the road.
“He had facial injuries. He may have died after falling at that spot. It is estimated that the accident occurred on Wednesday, but no one noticed it. His motorcycle and all his goods were still on the scene. The body has been recovered. His wife and children, who are in Antananarivo, are also on their way here,” the family in Andramasina indicated.
