The six boules players representing the Great Island during their summer tour in France for nearly two months have shone by winning five out of the ten tournaments played.
A positive assessment. The Malagasy delegation, composed of two triplets and two technicians, including the National Technical Director Juan Eric Rakotondralambo, returned to the country on Tuesday after nearly two months of summer touring in France.
The two national selections, formed by Lova Satamandimby Rakotoarisoa, Faralahy Urbain Joseph Ramanantiaray (alias “Baloty”), Steph James “Bondy” Rakotonirina, Tiana Laurens Razanadrakoto (known as “Tonnerre”), Tafita Angelo Andriamahandry, and Steph James Bondy Rakotonirina, secured a total of five victories across the ten tournaments. Mada 1, consisting of Tonnerre, Baloty, and Lova, opened the tally in early August at the National Top 500 in the city of Sens. The trio of Baloty, Bondy, and Lova followed up with a win at the National of Mulhouse Top 500.
The triplets from the Great Island shone particularly during the last four tournaments. The same formation of Baloty, Bondy, and Lova also excelled at the National Open of Chalon-sur-Saône Top 1000 and the Mondial of Bron.
The Malagasy boules players were in top form. The final of the National of Charleville-Mézières Top 1000 was an all-Malagasy affair. The trophy went to Tafita, Mika, and Tonnerre against Bondy, Baloty, and Lova. The Malagasy teams failed three times in the final and reached the semi-finals twice. At the very beginning of the adventure, they were eliminated in the round of 32 and the round of 16.
These six flag-bearers will return to the Ankatso boulodrome from October 2nd to 4th to compete in the Madagascar triplet championship. They will later join the pre-selected players for a training camp and selection test from October 10th to 14th in the capital. The four best players from this camp will represent the country at the Men’s Senior Triplet World Championships and the precision shooting competition, which will take place in Thailand from November 20th to 25th.
