The Menabe team has climbed to the top of the national rankings. The Morondava selection narrowly defeated Pangalane Beach of Mananjary (4-3) late yesterday afternoon in the final of the national beach soccer championship, held on the beach of Manakara as part of the ‘Mazavaloha Festival’. In the semi-finals held yesterday morning, Menabe eliminated FC Bagdad of Toamasina (5-3), while the Vatovavy-Fitovinany team dominated AS FAJ Toliara (10-5). The Atsinanana team completed the podium after their victory against the Atsimo Andrefana team (6-4) in the third-place play-off match.
This national summit, which brought together seven regional selections, also served as the first stage for pre-selecting players for the upcoming Cosafa Cup and the Africa Cup of Nations scheduled for this year.
