New laptops on credit. 1,400 master’s students from the Universities of Antananarivo and Fianarantsoa will benefit from the “Laptop Pilot” program officially launched on Friday. This scheme allows them to acquire a new laptop with a down payment of 210,000 ariary, followed by monthly installments starting from 75,000 ariary over twelve months.
The total amount to be repaid will depend on the chosen computer model, as two ranges are offered during this pilot phase. A higher-performance model will be specifically offered to students in scientific fields. Furthermore, the equipment will come with a twelve-month after-sales warranty.
Lasting four months, the program was officially launched on Friday as part of the Digital and Energy Connectivity for Inclusion in Madagascar Fund. It aims to facilitate student access to digital equipment, which has become essential for both studies and professional integration.
For this first phase, master’s students are the primary beneficiaries. After signing the contract, the computers will be delivered directly to the campuses. Repayments will then be monitored monthly by agents from Paositra Finances.
Through this program, Paositra Finances plans to gradually expand the scheme to other universities in the country, according to Odilon Ndremanjary, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Paositra Finances.
