Ny Avo, the elder, and Ambinina Razafindrazaka made their mark during the Madagascar Junior Championship, which concluded on Sunday. At 15 and 9 years old, the two brothers each secured a national title for Ny Avo and two crowns for Ambinina, confirming their talent and their rise on the courts.
The future of Malagasy tennis looks bright, as the Razafindrazaka brothers have once again demonstrated. In the U16 category, Ny Avo Razafindrazaka won the national title after a hard-fought final against Aiky Moïse Rafanoharantsoa, an expatriate based in Canada. The young champion prevailed in two tight sets, 7/5, 7/5.
His younger brother, Ambinina Razafindrazaka, only 9 years old, was not to be outdone. Competing in the U12 category, he dominated Théodore Hagelskamp with authority, 6/2, 6/0, to claim the title. This adds a new line to his already impressive record, as he is also the Madagascar U10 team champion. These performances open up new prospects. His national victory had earned him a selection to represent Madagascar at the Southern African Championship, currently being held in Maputo, although his young age ultimately prevented him from participating.
Behind these successes lies a proud family and coaching staff that is yielding results. “Well done boys, I have no words! Believe in yourselves, believe in your dreams, the Lord is in control,” reacted their mother, Andrianina Ravoajanahary.
She did not fail to praise the work of their coaches, Basile Ramanantoanina, Mampy Fab’s, and Radonirina Fanatenatsoa: “Your work is bearing fruit, the progress is spectacular. You are the true architects of these successes.”
