Rock music once again proved its power to unite all generations. Yesterday, Antsahamanitra brought together a large number of enthusiasts to celebrate Tselatra’s 45-year career. Among the event’s highlights, the band surprised the audience by revisiting Samoëla’s songs in a rock version, an initiative widely acclaimed by the spectators.
As a guest at the concert, Samoëla joined Tselatra on stage to perform “Havako mamomamo.” Rearranged in a rock style while retaining its original identity, the song captivated the crowd. Among them, a twelve-year-old girl, dressed entirely in black with big boots, tights, and a matching dress, proudly displayed her attachment to the band’s world. “I came with my parents because I am a rock fan and I always attend Tselatra concerts,” she shared enthusiastically. Her testimony reflects the growing interest of the new generation in this musical genre.
Founded 45 years ago, Tselatra remains one of the iconic bands of Malagasy rock. Faithful to its identity, the group continues to defend a rock style deeply rooted in Malagasy culture while offering new arrangements and ambitious staging. The return to the stage of Éric, following his vision problems, also marked this celebration, which was highly anticipated by fans.
