FEMALE ENTREPRENEURSHIP – Women turn towards autonomy

The economic empowerment of Malagasy women is at the heart of the vision held by Women Up Africa Madagascar. The organization unveiled its vision on June 17th, during the closing of World Handicrafts Day. This event was also marked by the signing of a partnership agreement with the Ministry of Tourism and Handicrafts.

Established in Madagascar since December 2025, the organization works to support women’s economic initiatives, promote local products, and facilitate access to opportunities and financing.

This agreement reflects a shared commitment to strengthening high-potential handicraft and entrepreneurial sectors while showcasing Malagasy expertise.

Through this collaboration, Women Up Africa Madagascar aims to create bridges between female entrepreneurs, cooperatives, public institutions, and technical and financial partners. The goal is to enhance the visibility and competitiveness of Malagasy products in both national and international markets.

“By focusing on female leadership and the promotion of ‘Vita Malagasy’ (Made in Madagascar), the organization is part of a sustainable transformation dynamic, where women occupy a central place in the country’s economic development,” highlights a statement regarding the project.
