From June 20 to July 31, 2026, products bearing the “Malagasy ny Antsika” label are being showcased in the arrival hall of Ivato International Airport. This display serves as a strategic showcase designed to promote national craftsmanship and industrial expertise.
Products and services certified under the “Malagasy ny Antsika” label have gained a new prominent platform at the Antananarivo-Ivato International Airport. Organized by the Syndicate of Industries of Madagascar (SIM) in partnership with Ravinala Airports, the exhibition is being held from June 20 to July 31, 2026, in the airport hall.
This initiative aims to promote the “Vita Malagasy” (Made in Madagascar) brand to the thousands of domestic and international travelers passing through the country’s main gateway daily. Families, accompanying individuals, and visitors will have the opportunity to discover products from companies that adhere to the label.
For the President of SIM, Tiana Rasamimanana, this exhibition represents a significant opportunity to increase the visibility of national production.
Obstacles
“This opportunity will allow all products labeled ‘Malagasy ny Antsika’ to be seen by a large audience. We want to demonstrate the quality of what we produce and sell so that consumers realize that these purchases create jobs and drive the economy,” he stated.
Through this presence at Ivato, SIM also intends to encourage consumers to prioritize locally manufactured products in the face of competition from imports.
Despite the efforts of industrialists, several obstacles continue to hinder the development of the sector. The first involves energy, which remains a major cost factor for businesses. The second is related to road infrastructure. “Even when certain raw materials are available in Madagascar, their transport remains costly due to the poor condition of the roads. These constraints reduce our competitiveness compared to imported products,” Tiana Rasamimanana emphasized.
