FENCING – NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP – Analamanga fencers dominate

After more than a decade of existence, the Malagasy Fencing Federation continues to organize its annual national championship, in addition to training technicians. The national summit, which saw the participation of about thirty fencers from three leagues, namely Analamanga, Vakinankaratra, and Itasy, was held on Sunday at the National Sports Academy gymnasium in Ampefiloha.

Analamanga fencers clearly dominated the senior category. The finals were an internal affair between fencers from the host league. In the men’s category, Tafitasoa Razanatsila defeated Tsilavina Rakotoniaina. On the women’s side, Jennifer Capriati remained unbeatable against Larissa Santatriniaina in the final. The Vakinankaratra league accumulated four titles in the youth categories, secured by Tsioriniaina Heriniarivony (U20 Boys), Erica Mialinirina (U20 Girls), Geraldi Randrianjaka (U17 Girls), and Sambatra Razafilioharinjaka (U17 Boys). Itasy also garnered four titles, won by Toky Razafindratonga (U15 Boys), Jonathan Ramiakatra (U13 Boys), and a double victory by Johanne Ramiakatra in the U11 and U9 categories. The discipline currently has thirty-five registered members and fourteen qualified technicians.
