CONSUMPTION – Food poisoning victims discharged from hospital

A narrow escape for the victims of food poisoning in Antehiroka. Most patients have recovered and returned home yesterday. Around thirty people were discharged from the hospital, according to information obtained from the Joseph Ravoahangy Andrianavalona University Hospital Center (CHU-JRA).

“Only two people are still here, including our sister-in-law,” said Oria, a relative of a victim hospitalized in the medical resuscitation and toxicology department of the CHU-JRA, yesterday. The remaining hospitalized victims are suffering from blood pressure issues, abdominal pain, and fatigue.

“My older sister’s blood pressure is very unstable,” said Serge Fanomezana Mandimbison, brother of one of the victims.

While the health of most victims is beginning to improve, the population in Antehiroka remains on alert. “Not all the food stalls in our neighborhood opened their doors today…” says Oria.
