EDUCATION – Over 37,500 children educated on the environment through the partnership between Colas Madagascar and Lemurs’ Park

Environment and biodiversity are at the heart of education. Over 37,500 children have benefited from an environmental education program recognized by the Ministry of National Education over the 15 years of partnership between Colas Madagascar and Lemurs’ Park. This partnership aims to support awareness-raising actions for the protection of biodiversity.

Through discovery activities and educational workshops, young people learn about the richness of Madagascar’s natural heritage as well as the actions that contribute to its preservation. The goal is to help children understand environmental issues from an early age.

“Educational programs are part of Colas’ low-carbon strategy, as well as the commitment led by the company for the protection of biodiversity,” explains Alexandra Zafindramaro, Communications Director of Colas Madagascar. “The partnership also aims to support the animals living in the park,” she continues.

In addition to the financial support provided by the construction company, more than 600 trees, representing a dozen species endemic to Madagascar, have been planted in the park.
