At 21, Vinnah Rosine Raharimalala has just added a major milestone to her career. The young handball player from My-Sah, originally from Farafangana, played an active role in her club’s latest national championship victory, secured in the final against THBC. Lively, versatile, and highly impactful on the court, she was even named the tournament’s best player by her coach, Tillo Andriamiharinosy.
Born in Farafangana, Vinnah is the third of four children. She discovered her passion for handball by watching her older brother play. She began practicing at a very young age before joining her first club, Zami de Farafangana, at the age of 14.
After obtaining her baccalaureate in 2023, she moved to Antananarivo to pursue her studies. Her sister, who was already playing for My-Sah, introduced her to the club’s coach, Tillo Andriamiharinosy. The coach gave her a chance and opened the doors of My-Sah to her. In 2024, Vinnah experienced the senior national championship. After missing the title win in 2025, she returned more determined the following year and played a major role in the 2026 triumph, thus securing her first national title.
However, this success is only one step in her journey. As a German language student, Vinnah now harbors the ambition to continue her sporting career abroad. She is also planning to work in Germany as part of an au pair project. “My wish is to play outside of Madagascar. I am small in stature, but that did not stop me from achieving my goal: becoming the champion of Madagascar,” she confided. She also shared a message for young girls: “You must make good choices, have patience, and perseverance. When there is a will, everything is possible.”
