Two young men lost their lives in a serious traffic accident that occurred in Andraharo around 1 a.m. yesterday. Their remains were laid out on mortuary tables at a hospital in Anosy.
The tragedy involved three scooters. A brown Kymco G6 was traveling from Ankazomanga toward Ambohimanarina when it collided with two other two-wheelers, a gray Kymco G5 and a black Kymco GP, whose riders were engaged in a chase coming from Ambohimanarina.
The impact was fatal for the driver of the G5, who was carrying a passenger. He died on the spot. He was a local resident known among young motorcycle hiking enthusiasts and was a member of a scooter enthusiast club.
The injured were evacuated to the HJRA hospital, but one of them succumbed shortly after being admitted to the emergency room. The body of the first victim was transported by a BMH vehicle. The second, who passed away after unsuccessful medical treatment, was then moved to the morgue.
At daybreak, the road still bore the marks of the tragedy, with pools of blood and scattered motorcycle fairing debris.
