Pétanque – 2027 World Championship – A 100% Local Quartet

The Malagasy Boules Sports Federation unveiled on Wednesday evening the names of the four players who will represent Madagascar at the World Championship, to be held from November 20 to 25 in Thailand.

The suspense is over. Following five days of selection tests at the Ankatso boulodrome, the national technical director of the Malagasy Boules Sports Federation, Juan Éric Rakotondralambo, announced the four players selected to defend the national colors at the 52nd edition of the World Championships. The triplet and precision shooting events will take place from November 20 to 25 in Khon Kaen, Thailand.

The selected players are Olivier Rakotomanana, known as “Liva” (Cecam), as the pointer; Faralahy Urbain Joseph Ramanantiaray, nicknamed “Baloty” (PAC), as the middle player; Tendry Fitia Fanjamanovofifaliana (SECAM) for precision shooting; and Lova Satamandimby Rakotoarisoa (SBA), designated as the fourth strategic player.

All four selected players possess significant international experience, having achieved various national and continental titles. Notably, all expatriate players were eliminated during the selection process, confirming a 100% local composition for the team. The team will undergo a three-week intensive training camp in Antsirabe to prepare for the competition.
