Construction of the Anosizato flyover is set to begin in a few hours. An official groundbreaking ceremony is scheduled for Friday afternoon, attended by the President of the Refoundation, Colonel Michaël Randrianirina. To prepare for the event and facilitate site installation, traffic on the RN58A national road between Ampasika and the Anosizato bridge will be partially interrupted for all vehicles starting Thursday, July 30, at 1:00 AM, and will return to normal on Saturday, August 1, at 10:00 AM.
Vehicles traveling from Ampasika toward the Anosizato bridge must detour via Anosipatrana and pass through Anosibe to reach the Anosizato Atsinanana roundabout. Agents from the Urban Commune of Antananarivo and the Land Transport Agency (ATT) will manage traffic during this 48-hour partial closure.
From Cairo, where he is on an official visit, Colonel Michaël Randrianirina welcomed the launch of these works, which had been “announced for several years” by others but which “we have finally dared to launch.” He confirmed his attendance at the groundbreaking ceremony this Friday afternoon before members of the Malagasy diaspora in Egypt.
The project will be carried out by the China Geo-Engineering Corporation. Work will begin with the construction of the first of two two-lane bridges that will replace the current bridge crossing the Ikopa River.
Key stakeholders met on Tuesday at the Ministry of Public Works in Anosy to validate the final technical and organizational arrangements. A statement noted that the escrow account for compensation payments, a prerequisite for starting the work, was opened on July 27.
Simultaneously, authorities are strengthening communication regarding the project to prepare residents and road users for upcoming changes. Information sessions will be held with local officials, and a special television broadcast will present the various phases of the construction and the measures implemented during the work.
