A 10-year-old child, struck by a truck in Antampotsena, Sabotsy Namehana, on Monday afternoon, was rushed to the hospital in an attempt to save him, but unfortunately, he did not survive. The victim was a schoolboy on his way to school. The body has been released to the family. The driver and the truck, along with their relevant documents, have been detained at the Avaradrano central police station in Sabotsy Namehana.
On the road in front of the Avaradrano district office in Sabotsy Namehana, a Mercedes-Benz truck traveling from north to south was driven by a 43-year-old man. It struck a child who was crossing the road. The victim was transported to the Anosy Avaratra hospital for treatment, but due to the severity of the impact, he did not survive.
Children and young people moving about on the streets must be closely supervised to protect them from various risks, particularly traffic accidents. For its part, the Land Transport Agency (ATT) is already conducting tours in schools to raise awareness among students about road safety.
